The previous traditions of practice, outside of Neoplatonism in an abstracted fashion, did not have a unifying spiritual vision that drew it all together. The Golden Dawn synthesized Neoplatonism’s return to the One with Jewish traditions of rebuilding the world of shards and an esoteric understanding of Christianity’s redemption from the Fall. This is relatively unique. One scholar (Christopher Chase) has argued that the Golden Dawn’s view of the creation of Ben Adam, as the fully realized adept, restores and redeems creation from its fallen state, at least for that individual and contributes to its restoration for all.

that’s a tough one for me…it seems that, in studying their roots, i found every single disparate tradition they incorporated to be demonstrably superior on it’s own terms: Dee’s Enochian, Jewish Kabballah, Greek Qabalah, etc… Thelema is a joke, Wicca is a travesty, Scientology is a nightmare, though your mother is probably rather hip.
