The Manipulated Living
The Manipulated Living are often the close friends and neighbours of the Living Receiver.
They are prone to irrational, bizarre, and often violent behaviour.
This is the unfortunate result of their task, which is to assist the
Living Receiver in returning the Artifact to the Primary Universe.The Manipulated Living will do anything to save themselves from Oblivion.

I’m pretty sure it’s Manipulated Dead. Manipulated Dead are people who die in the Tangent Universe as a result of the Living Receiver’s actions. The task is then set upon them to go back in time and help the Receiver accomplish their task and die. Once the Tangent Universe is set right, the Manipulated Dead return to life, for when the Receiver died, everything they did during their time on the Tangent Universe no longer happened. This is why you see Frank again at the end of Donnie Darko.
